Turkish Tourist Visa for Indians

http://scottysdetails.ca/exterior-detail/ “Somethings are best left a blur, births and visa bills  .”

–       http://thewaterpumphouse.com/EXfUe8 Sophie Kinsella

I always feel VISA policies for Indians to visit another country are unfair. Most of the times we must go through ‘many’ steps in order to get a VISA. Those steps take a lot of time and money. While, on the other hand, citizens of USA or Germany, etc are eligible to visit more than 150 countries without any hassle.
Lucky you, if you are planning to go to Turkey, you have the option to take the easier route,

*CONDITIONS APPLIED*

Read the conditions below to understand better.

  • Condition 1: IF you have a valid VISA or residence permit of UK, USA, Ireland or Schengen.
  • Condition 2: IF, you don’t.
  • Steps for Condition 1 – IF you have a valid VISA or residence permit of UK, USA, Ireland or Schengen.
First of all, congratulations because you made your VISA process much easier. Not only because you already spent thousands of dollars in your USA or UK trip, but also, because you will be saving a lot of time in Turkish Visa Process. Holding a valid USA, UK, Ireland and Schengen VISA or residence permit makes you eligible to apply for a Turkish e-Visa which you can get in 3 minutes. LITERALLY!
All you have to do is visit https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/ and start filling your application for an e-Visa.

Step Wise:

  • Click on New Application
  • Select your country (India) from the drop-down menu
  • Select the travel document (Usually it is Ordinary Passport)
  • Complete the security Captcha. Then, Save and Continue.
  • Write/Select your DOA (Date of Arrival) and click on Save. (The visa is applicable for stay up to 30 days with a validity of 180 Days)
  • You must tick-check all the requirements written there in order to be eligible for the Business/Tourism e-Visa such as:
  •     Your passport covers the period that you will be staying in Turkey.
  •     You can prove that you hold a return ticket, hotel reservation and at least 50 $ per each day of your stay.
  •     You are travelling for the purposes of tourism or business.
  •     You have a valid Supporting Document (Valid visa OR valid residence permit from one of the Schengen Countries, USA, UK or Ireland). E-visas are not accepted as supporting documents.
  • You confirm that you meet each and every one of the conditions listed above.
  • Then you Save and continue ahead.
  • Then you must enter personal details such as Name, Surname, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Name of Parents, Passport Number, Passport Issue and Expiry Dates, E-mail Address, Home Address and Phone Number. Also, you must select the type of supporting document with the country’s name along with its expiry date (Select ‘Unlimited’ if there is no expiry date). Click on save and continue.
  • Make the payment of 43 USD (Valid of a Single-Entry Turkish e-Visa) and submit the application.
  • You will get the link to download your VISA as well as email to do the same.

Now, you are good to go! You can officially enter Turkey!

  • Steps for Condition 2 – IF, you don’t. Through GATEWAY GLOBE
Intent:
You need to be clear about the VISA category you choose to visit Turkey. Be it Single/Double Transit, Tourist or exhibition, etc.
Now, the different types of documents required is different based on the jurisdiction you are applying from, hence READ CAREFULLY & PROCEED:
Also, VFS (Visa Facilitation Services) which used to handle Turkey Visas earlier, DOES NOT HANDLE ANYTHING RELATED TO TURKEY VISAS NOW.
Documents Required for Applicants applying in New Delhi Jurisdiction
(Click here to know whether you fall under the New Delhi Jurisdiction Category or not)

Documents are:

⦁ Duly Filled and Signed Application form (The application form needs to be downloaded and filled manually and signed by blue or black ink in BLOCK letters) Make sure all the details match your passport. (Click here for the latest application form for Turkey.)
⦁ Original Passport with a validity of 6 months or more and at least 2 blank/empty pages. (If your passport is not issued in the jurisdiction in which you are applying your Turkish VISA from, then, an address proof needs to be submitted which could be a Sales / Purchase Agreement or a valid License Copy, Aadhar Card (proving the address), Electricity Bill (proving the address) All documents must be notarized attested)
⦁ Two photocopies of the first and last page of your passport in A4 Sizes.
⦁ Two photographs of the size: 2.5-inch × 2.5-inch with a white background clicked in the last 6 months.
⦁ If the applicant is on a job, an original leave letter from the employer is required. For a self-employed, a cover letter with authorized name, signatory, company stamp, and designation is required. If the cover letter is on a business letterhead, then it must be notarized attested
⦁ Mandatory Travel Insurance (Valid for at least duration of trip to Turkey) which should cover the following:

⦁ Medical Evacuation and repatriation expenses
⦁ Personal accidental death
⦁ Personal liability
⦁ Daily allowance in hospitalization cases

The cover sum should at least be 30000 Euro.
You can go for Bajaj Allianz or TATA AIG according to my experience.
⦁ A Cover letter must be submitted by the applicant in TYPED FORMAT, mentioning the purpose of stay, people accompanying, occupation, and expenses clause. Everything in detail. It can also be combined with a full tour itinerary mentioned later.
⦁  Mention check-in and check-out dates in the Cover Letter.
⦁ Confirmed Return Ticket
⦁ Full Tour Itinerary (Strictly in TYPED FORMAT) Day-Wise, mentioning the name of the hotels you are staying in, their addresses, contact numbers and email ID’s. If staying with a local host, then mentioning his/her name, address, contact number and email ID. You should also include any other advance bookings which you have made. An e-Visa copy and Passport Copy to be provided who will be travelling along with the applicant.
⦁ Attested and Signed copy of your last 3 month’s company (if employed) bank statement.
⦁ Attested and Signed copy of your last 3 month’s personal bank statement.
⦁ Last 3 months salary slips of the company (if employed) signed and attested.
⦁ Minimum balance of at least 1 Lakh Rupees per person.
⦁ If applicant has not enough funds or bank account, financial support letter from the sponsor which is to be notarized attested. (for eg. If, one person is sponsoring the entire trip for his family of 5 (including him), then he/she must be able to show balance of atleast 5 Lakhs in her/his account. My suggestion would be to show 5.6 Lakhs or 6 Lakhs just to be on the safer side)
⦁ For Minors applications below documents are to be submitted
  • Covering/Consent letter from both the parents if minor is travelling alone. The letter is also needed even if the Minor is travelling with parents.
  • Parents passport photocopy needs to be attached.
  • NOC on 100rs Stamp Paper with notary needs to be provided if minor is travelling alone or if accompanied by one parent.
⦁ If the applicant is visiting a Turkish citizen/foreigner residing in Turkey; invitation letter including passport number and full name of the applicant and copy of the identity card and bank account of the inviter would be needed.
⦁ Marriage Certificate of the Couple (If not mentioned in the passports) issued by the marriage registrar / Affidavit required notarized attested.
⦁ If the application form of the person travelling is being submitted by a representative or a travel agent, then, an authorization letter (by each individual / applicant) is required (individually signed by the applicant himself/herself) along with a Government ID of the representative.

Now, I have seen many cases where people are rejected the VISA because of some missing document or incomplete application form. Hence, this step needs to be taken very seriously. Go through your checklist of documents and cross check each and every document twice just to make sure you have everything you need. Giving more documents never hurt but even if one document goes missing, you might face a bad situation. Hence, be careful.
